The research team for quantum precision measurement of the Institute of Laser Spectroscopy at Shanxi University was recognized as a national advanced team of professional and technical talent at the 6th National Outstanding Professional and Technical Talent Commendation Conference held in Beijing on Oct 28.

Founded in 2000, the team has become an important base for scientific research and the training of high-level talent with international influence in the field of quantum precision measurement in China.

Focusing on top international issues and major national needs in the field of quantum precision measurement, the team has accomplished a series of innovative work with international impact in recent years.

Led by professor Jia Suotang, the team has made significant breakthroughs in key technologies for very weak electromagnetic fields and microwave electric field quantum precision measurement.

These research results based on quantum precision measurement have proved valuable to national defense security, microwave communications, and quantum measurement.

As a high honor awarded by the State, the commendation of national outstanding professional and technical talent is given every five years. It mainly awards high-level professional and technical talent engaged in major national strategies, engineering projects, basic scientific research, key core technology research, and other fields related to high-quality economic and social development.

The honor given to Shanxi University's team is the highest recognition for the researchers' long-term efforts in important research, reflecting and encouraging the innovation-driven high-quality development of scientific research at Shanxi University.
