SXU professor delivers speech in US

Wu Dongsheng, a professor of economics at Shanxi University, has recently been invited to deliver a feature report at Rocky Mountain Institute in the United States.

Taking e-taxis and public bicycles in Taiyuan as examples, Wu will talk about the transformation of transport and the low-carbon development of Chinese cities from the aspect of China’s actions and achievements to promote low-carbon development, as well as the socioeconomic situation in Shanxi, and Taiyuan's policies and practices in transforming transport.

He also discussed the global control of greenhouse gas emissions after the US decided to quit the Paris Agreement in June, and the outlook for low-carbon development and the energy industry with scholars from institutes and universities in the US, such as the Carbon War Room and Harvard University.

Shanxi University's research achievements in low-carbon development were also promoted during the discussion.

Rocky Mountain Institute, a world-famous energy think tank, is committed to advancing global energy reforms, promote renewable sources of energy, and change current structures of energy supply which depend on burning fossil fuels.
